After nearly two straight weeks of across the board increases in COVID-19 cases, Lyon County Public Health has had its second straight reporting period with an active case decrease.
Public Health reported 35 new cases Wednesday afternoon bringing the county’s overall total to 4,618 since late last March. Lyon County has reported 220 total new cases in the month of August alone.
Of the 132 cases, 21 are breakthrough cases. 11 of the cases involved residents vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine, three received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and seven received the Pfizer vaccine.
On a positive note, Public Health also reported 45 recoveries dropping the active total from 142 cases Monday to 132 Wednesday. Deaths did increase from 87 to 88 but active hospitalizations dropped from four to one.
