President Joe Biden is requiring nursing home staffers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or else their facilities may lose Medicare and Medicaid funding.
Federal data indicates hundreds of thousands of nursing home workers nationwide are not vaccinated, even though seniors and frontline healthcare workers in those facilities are at high risk for developing the virus.
Biden has already told millions of federal workers to demonstrate their vaccination status, with mandatory vaccinations for the military becoming increasingly likely.
The new mandate for nursing home staff could take effect as soon as next month.
