The Emporia State football team will be holding their 9th practice Thursday.
Wednesdays practice ended with a threat of 50-yard sprints from Coach Garin Higgins and ended with ice cream bars.
One of the positions that have the least game experience will be running back.
Sophomore Calvin Boyce is the only running back that has a carry in a game.
Junior Cannan Brooks, a transfer from South Dakota, is also battling for playing time.
Sophomore Billy Ross Jr, who is also a member of the track team, is also in the mix.
The Hornets will take Friday off and then hold a scrimmage Saturday evening.
