Activities have started for the 2022 rendition of the Flint Hills Beef Fest.
Activities began with the live stocker show at the Sale Barn and annual producers seminar at the Fairgrounds before the ranch feed at 6 pm and ranch rodeo at 7 pm Friday evening both at the Fairgrounds.
A lot of activities are planned for Saturday, starting with the annual Barnyard Games at 10 am as organized by the Emporia High Futures Farmers of America group. So what’s on the list of Barnyard Games? Let spokesperson Leanna Rust explain:
Besides the Barnyard Games, Saturday morning activities include the annual hamburger feed, with the Beef Fest Committee providing the meat and KVOE staffers cooking the burgers. The feed begins at 11 am, with KVOE broadcasting from the burger feed starting at 10 am.
Evening activities start at 5:30 pm with the award ceremony, followed by the steak feed at 6:30 pm and entertainment — Dueling Pianos at 7:30 pm, followed by music from Brickhorse from 9-11:30 pm.
Sunday’s activity list includes the annual golf tournament, starting at 8:30 am at the Emporia Golf Course.
