It was a record-setting night for the Emporia State Athletics Auction Thursday night. Over $83,000 dollars was raised by a live and silent auction.
Nearly 200 Emporia State supporters were in attendance at the auction that took place at Emporia States Welch Stadium.
Athletic Director Kent Weiser called it a special night.
Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Brett McLaughlin is one of the organizers for this weekends fundraising activities.
The funds from the auction and Fridays golf tournament benefit the 15 athletic programs at Emporia State.
Softball Coach April Rosales said last night had 2 benefits.
Emporia State graduate student Erica Self, who also is a member of the soccer team and track team was grateful for the assistance she received due to previous auctions.
Five items went for over $2,000 each during the live auction, highlighted by a trip to Nashville for four that went for $5,500.
The Golf tournament will be played Friday at the Emporia Golf Course with 20 4 man teams playing.
