Severe thunderstorm activity is becoming more likely across portions of the KVOE listening area.
Lyon and Osage counties are now under a severe thunderstorm watch until 2 am Saturday. Morris and Wabaunsee counties remain in a watch until 11 pm.
The National Weather Service expects storms after 8 pm across the KVOE listening area as a cold front moves eastward across the state. There is a slight severe weather risk for areas north of a line from Matfield Green to Madison to Gridley, with a marginal risk south of that line.
5 pm Friday: Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Morris, Wabaunsee counties until 11 pm
Two area counties are now in a severe thunderstorm watch through late evening Friday.
Morris and Wabaunsee counties are involved in a watch until 11 pm. Wind gusts up to 70 mph, hail to the size of ping pong balls and isolated tornadoes are possible.
