If you’re attending an event at the Emporia Granada Theatre, be prepared to wear a mask or have proof of vaccination.
Late Friday night, Director Rebeca Herrera and Board of Directors President Mike Helbert said the recent surge in COVID-19 cases prompted the move. They say masks for unvaccinated residents can be removed when patrons are drinking, but not wearing a mask when not drinking beverages is grounds for removal. They also remind people the Granada can’t guarantee every patron will follow the new set of rules, saying patrons attend the theater at their own individual risk.
The theater says the new policies are in place for the benefit of patrons, staff and performers alike.
