Hot, sultry conditions remain in place across the KVOE listening area this week.
Heat advisories remain in effect areawide until 8 pm Thursday with air temperatures approaching 100 Wednesday and Thursday along with potential heat index readings as high as 109. Heat index readings for Emporia have already been as high as 104 Monday and Tuesday.
Don’t forget to take extra steps to make sure you and yours are safe like drinking lots of water, staying in air conditioning as much as possible, changing your work schedules if needed to handle the most strenuous activities in the morning or evening. Also, keep a close eye on young and old alike. Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles when it’s this hot.
We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
