Field surveys underway now for two Lyon County bridges are for bridge raising, not bridge replacing.
Last week, the Kansas Department of Transportation announced the surveys for Kansas Turnpike bridges just north of Road 220 and east of Road M, but KDOT says there was a miscommunication on the Turnpike Authority’s final goal.
Regardless, the surveys are underway and may end by Sept. 3.
Property owners and tenants near the bridges are advised that survey crew members will be requesting permission to go onto private property. Survey work will include use of survey instruments to determine different locations of existing items near the bridges.
