Currently, there is one more heat advisory day for KVOE listeners. That doesn’t mean the heat is over.
All area counties have been in a heat advisory for much of the week, if not the full work week. The advisory is set to end at 8 pm Thursday, but not before we top out at 98 with heat index readings as high as 103-108 areawide. Wednesday saw a high temperature of 93 and peak heat index of 107.
There is a chance the heat advisory could be extended into Friday. Air temperatures will once again climb to the upper 90s, but there is a chance humidity levels will be lower — and if that happens, the heat advisory will not be extended.
