COVID-19 has forced the Humane Society of the Flint Hills to adjust its weekend schedule, but the agency is adapting.
During KVOE’s 8:05 am newscast Friday, Director Stephanie Achille said Saturday’s pet adoption event at Red Rocks State Historic Site had to be postponed. However, that has led to an extended adoption event.
Half-price adoptions will be available from 10 am to 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday. The adoption process remains the same, meaning people interested in adoptions fill out a notice of intent and the 24-hour hold period is in effect.
Achille says recent adoption efforts, including the ongoing BOGO event for cats and kittens, have gone well — but pets continue to come in to the Animal Shelter at a rapid rate.
