Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt has announced over $120,000 in grants for SOS.
Schmidt announced grants to support five different SOS ventures:
*Nearly $17,000 will help SOS recruit, screen, train and supervise CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers
*Almost $45,000 will provide supervised visitation and monitored exchange services in a safe environment for children and families
*Over $17,000 will go to specialized support services based on children’s needs and development stages to help with healing process. Services will be offered in both English and Spanish
*Nearly $44,000 will support public awareness efforts
*Over $5,000 will help bolster operating expenses for the children’s advocacy center
