The now-annual Parkapalooza capped off two days’ worth of celebration in Strong City Saturday.
The event held at Strong City Park, featured a mini-carnival, water slides, inflatables, a dunk tank, petting zoo, and yard games served as the culmination of the town’s 150th-anniversary celebration. Organizer Barbara Davis says all of the residents were excited to be together to celebrate their 150 years of history.
She says it was nice to have something to bring the community together after so much uncertainty over the past year.
In addition to the activities Saturday, brown bag meals were also sold throughout the festivities with proceeds going towards the construction of a splash pad just east of the park’s playground. Davis says its a unique thing when you can use a celebration of a town’s history as a fundraiser for its future.
In addition to Strong City residents, members of neighboring communities also turned up for the festivities Saturday.
