The Kansas Jayhawks opened their season with a 17-14 win over South Dakota Friday night.
Quarterback Jason Bean threw two touchdown passes last night, both to Lawrence Arnold including the game-winning touchdown with 1:10 to play in the game.
The Jayhawks led 7-0 at halftime. They took a 10-7 lead into the 4th quarter on a 30-yard field goal. South Dakota took a 14-10 lead with just over 5 minutes to play.
Kansas capped off an 11 play 64-yard drive with their 2nd touchdown of the night.
The win was also the first of the Lance Leipold era.
Kansas next Friday night plays at Coastal Carolina.
