Lyon County Public Health has announced the weekend totals for coronavirus traffic.
There were 39 new cases between Friday and Tuesday morning, moving the overall total over the last almost 18 months to 4,874.
Active cases increased by 18 and now stand at 122. Of the current total, 19 — or just under 16 percent — are breakthrough cases involving fully-vaccinated people. Since mid-June, there have been 124 breakthrough cases.
Deaths remained constant at 88. Active hospitalizations dipped from seven to five.
Over 530 children from newborn to age 17 have had the virus through the pandemic, with 49 of those cases currently active. College-age students ages 18-23 are the age group most affected in Lyon County with 789 total cases. Nine of those cases are active.
