Budgets, COVID-19 response, construction and strategic planning are all on the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education meeting Wednesday night.
Before the consent agenda, the board will have separate public hearings to exceed the revenue-neutral rate nd the overall budget. The board is set to vote on both documents later in the meeting.
Off the financial topics, Superintendent Allison Anderson-Harder will give the latest COVID-19 update from the district’s COVID Advisory Committee. Anderson-Harder will also give a strategic planning update and present a long-range planning proposal from the Kansas Association of School Boards.
Also, McCownGordon will have a construction update as the nearly $80 million Building for the Future renovation and new construction project continues. Board members will also discuss a settlement agreement between USD 253 and Symmetry Energy Solutions for the better than $120,000 monthly bill initially received after extended brutal cold in February.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at Mary Herbert.
