A Vassar woman is dead after a wreck involving two SUVs just north of Lyndon on Friday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash on Kansas Highwa 268 west of South Berryton Road happened at 12:40 pm. Patti Croy, 65, was westbound on K-268 and left the highway for currently unknown reasons. Croy overcorrected, crossed the center line and collided with an SUV driven by 52-year-old Trisha Ellis of Superior, Wisconsin.
Croy was pronounced dead. Ellis was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries.
Both drivers were the only people in their respective vehicles. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
K-268 was closed for over two hours after the wreck.
