The Wildcats held a 21-3 lead before Southern Illinois scored 20 unanswered points to take a 23-21 lead at halftime.

Duece Vaughn scored 3 touchdowns and finished with 120 yards rushing.
Will Howard, who took over at quarterback, also scored a rushing touchdown.
Kansas State with the win improves to 2-0 and will host Nevada next Saturday.
