New and active coronavirus cases both increased in Lyon County Public Health’s latest report Friday.
Public Health announced 28 new cases Friday, more than 24 combined for the reports Monday and Wednesday. The overall caseload is at 4,963 since late March 2020.
Active cases went from 86 to 94. Twenty are considered breakthrough cases involving fully-vaccinated residents.
Deaths remained steady at 88, but one pending death was added for the first time in several weeks. Active hospitalizations increased from four to six.
College-age students ages 18-23 still lead Lyon County’s overall caseload and now has surpassed 800 total cases at 802. Eleven cases are active in this age group. Children under age 18 now number 583 total cases with 33 currently active. For adults, the 30-39 age group now has the most total cases at 738.
