Court proceedings continue for the Hartford couple accused of harboring dogs in unsafe conditions earlier this year.
Rhonda Staggs has a pretrial hearing at 8:30 am Monday. Her husband, Thomas Staggs, is now set for jury trial Oct. 12 after a hearing last week. Trial was supposed to begin Tuesday.
Both face 17 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after Lyon County law enforcement and the private group Guardians of the Wolves went to 303 East Grand in Hartford in late May. Seventeen dogs were taken to undisclosed locations after the alleged rescue.
