The Kansas City Royals had the broom out Monday sweeping a doubleheader from Cleveland.
The Royals won the 1st game 7-2. Salvador Perez hit a 2 run home run in the 5th inning, his 46th of the season. He is now tied for the season lead for most home runs and breaks Johnny Benchs record for most home runs hit in a single season by a catcher.
Hunter Dozier and Andrew Benintendi also hit 2 run home runs.
Brady Singer was the winning pitcher going all 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits with 7 strikeouts.
The Royals won the second game 4-2. They scored 2 runs in the 1st inning on a bases-loaded walk and a Hunter Dozier sacrifice fly.
The added single runs in the 4th and 6th inning.
The Royals and Indians play again Tuesday evening with the first pitch at 5:10 pm. Daniel Lynch will be the starting pitcher for the Royals.
