Nonprofits across the KVOE listening area are encouraged to submit grant applications to the Emporia Community Foundation.
The 2022 grant cycle is underway, and nonprofit groups have until Sept. 30 to submit their paperwork. The Community Foundation Grants Committee awards money for projects and programs that meet changing community needs in several areas — health, social services, education, recreation and cultural affairs.
Back in January, the Community Foundation granted $25,000 to four organizations: Chase County ‘Old School’ Development District, CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness, Emporia Senior Center and Project Playscape.
Recipients will be announced later this year. Awards will be disbursed in January.
In separate but related matters, the Community Foundation has several other deadlines for funding requests that are fast approaching:
*Applications are due by Sept. 30 for the Emporia Public School Endowment Fund, which offers resources for USD 253 teachers to incorporate learning strategies, creative teaching ideas and student motivation objectives.
*Applications for the Sadie Jones Fund are due by Oct. 1. The fund provides money for public health and safety projects for children in Lyon and Chase counties.
Applications are online at www.emporiacf.org, by calling 620-342-9304 or by mailing the Community Foundation, 527 Commercial Suite B in Emporia.
