Country music is taking over downtown Emporia this weekend.
Two concerts are coming. First, the Emporia Granada Theatre is welcoming Blane Howard to the stage. Director Rebeca Herrera says Howard came to prominence with his “Run It Back” hype song for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Holiday State will open the show, which will start at 7 pm.
Tickets are $15-$30 and are available by calling 620-342-3342 or by going online to emporiagranada.com.
Right after Howard’s concert, Americus native and Emporia musician Savanna Chestnut and the Field Hands will perform at the Bourbon Cowboy starting at 10 pm. There is no cover charge for that show. Chestnut, who appeared on the NBC talent show “The Voice” earlier this year, will preview her show and update her career during a special interview at 8:10 am Friday on KVOE.
