The Emporia High boys soccer team played Topeka High to a 1-1 draw last night. Edwin Maciel gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead in the 2nd half with his 10th goal of the season.
Topeka High tied the match to send it to overtime.
Emporia High Coach Victory Ibarra said after a slow start they played well the rest of the match.
The Spartans are now 6-2-1 for the season. They are scheduled to play at Topeka West on Tuesday.
