The #5 ranked Emporia State soccer team shut out Fort Hays State 1-0 Sunday to open MIAA play with a win.
Mackenzie Dimarco scored the lone goal in the 10th minute of play.
The Lady Hornets outshot Fort Hays 8-3 and 3-1 on goal.
Goalie Jullian Patton recorded the shutout.
The Emporia State soccer team is now 7-0-1 for the season. They are scheduled to play at Missouri Western on Friday.
