The preliminary hearing connected to an attempted murder case from east Emporia last month has been delayed.
Ronald W Schemm was supposed to have a hearing Wednesday but that was continued to Oct. 15. Judge Lee Fowler will president.
Schemm is accused of trying to kill a woman as well as threatening two men with a gun in mid-August after a reported domestic violence situation in the 900 block of Waverly Way. Emporia Police officers say they investigated for 16 hours before Schemm surrendered.

A preliminary hearing is ahead for an Emporia man accused of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Ronald W. Schemm, 43, will have a preliminary hearing at 9 am Wednesday in Lyon County District Court.
Schemm is accused of trying to kill a woman and threatening two men with a 9mm handgun in August. He was arrested after a better than 16-hour investigation that started with reports of a domestic violence situation in the 900 block of Waverly Way. The Emporia Police Department’s Special Response Team was activated before Schemm surrendered.
