If you’re confused by who’s eligible for COVID-19 booster shots and who’s not, you’re not alone.
Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern says there are several categories of people who can — and should consider — COVID-19 booster shots.
Millbern stresses the booster shot effort is different from the push to vaccinate immunocompromised people, who are now advised to get a third shot before they can get a booster.
Right now, the boosters are only available if you have had the Pfizer vaccine in the past and people who have received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson cannot receive a Pfizer booster shot. People need to wait at least six months after their original vaccination course was completed.
Millbern says there is ample supply of vaccines, regardless of the brand. She also reminds residents the Pfizer vaccine is currently administered Tuesdays and Thursdays at Flint Hills Community Health Center, 420 West 15th.
