Emporia State University music students will benefit directly from a special concert Saturday evening.
The annual ESU Music Gala Benefit Concert will take place inside Albert Taylor Hall on the university campus and will feature performances by several ESU music ensembles including ESU choirs and special performances by ESU alumni. Annually, the concert generates thousands of dollars to provide ESU students with scholarships.
ESU Music Department Chair Dr. Allan Comstock says, unlike most scholarships, the funds generated by the gala are not restricted simply to music majors.
Tickets for the concert are available at $25 apiece and can be purchased online at Emporia.edu or from the ESU Music Office inside Beach Hall. If you cannot attend the concert, you can stream it live on the university’s website for a cost of $25 as well.
In addition to raising funds for student scholarships, the gala will also honor former ESU Director of Choral Activities and 2017 Music Association Hall of Fame inductee Dr. Terry J. Barham.
