The Olpe Eagles capped off homecoming week with a dominating 63-0 shutout win over the Pleasanton Blue Jays Friday night.
The Eagles opened the scoring on the first play of their opening drive and would add six more scores, including a 24-yard pick-six by junior Blake Redeker, through the first half to take a 49-0 lead into the locker room. The Eagles continued to hold the Blue Jay offense to minimal gains en route to the shutout victory.
Redeker says they did their homework on the Pleasanton offense and it paid off.
Head Coach Chris Schmidt says it was a good win, but he sees some areas where his team can still improve.
Senior quarterback Damon Redeker led the Eagles with seven touchdowns on the night and 286 yards of total offense.
With the win, Olpe now improves to 5-0 on the season and 4-0 in district play clinching the district championship.
They have 1 more district game to play, which is in 2 weeks at Northern Heights.
