Efforts to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease will get a large boost from a local annual fundraiser Sunday.
The 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on the Lyon County Fairgrounds in an effort to raise funds all in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. This year’s event will be fully in person after having to shift to a virtual format last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizer Stacy Schultz says everyone can expect a traditional walk event including a special opening ceremony prior to the walk officially getting underway.
The early portion of the event will take place in and around the Fairgrounds Anderson Building which will open at noon. The promise garden ceremony will take place at 12:45 pm followed by the walk at 1 pm on the new walking trail around the fairgrounds.
