Emporia States Matthew Maki has been named the MIAA mens Cross Country Runner of the week.
Matthew Maki was the top runner for Emporia State at the last two meets. He set a course record while winning the Emporia State Invitational held at Jones Park.
In the Hornets’ most recent meet, competing in a field of 350 starters including runners from the Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC, Maki finished 34th with a time of 24:51.9 in the McDonnell Memorial Men’s 8K during the Arkansas Chili Pepper Invite.
