Traffic flow in all directions has been restored following a semi accident in west Emporia Tuesday afternoon.
Emporia Police and first responders were called to the intersection of 6th Ave. and Prairie Street shortly after 12:30 pm for a reported injury accident involving a semi. Once on scene, authorities found a semi had tipped over in the intersection for yet unknown reasons causing its load of grain to spill out into the intersection and disrupt traffic.
The driver of the semi was unharmed and no other vehicles were involved. Eastbound traffic in the intersection was unaffected, however, westbound traffic had to be rerouted to the north around the accident while southbound traffic had to go either south or east for close to two hours.
