Lyon County commissioners have a wide range of items to discuss when they have their action meeting Thursday.
Facilities Director Mark McKenna will present a fixed-price contract on natural gas for approval. Also, Lyon County Emergency Management Director Jarrod Fell will present a request to update the county’s open burning resolution reflecting the online reporting process.
In other business, County Engineer Chip Woods will discuss a cost-share road resurfacing project affecting Road 110 from Road T to W. The Kansas Department of Transportation is set to reimburse $1 million of the $1.5 million cost. Also, Zoning and Floodplain Administrator Sam Seeley will offer a portal development partnership with Schneider Geopastial for web-based permits.
The meeting starts at 9 am in the Lyon County Courthouse.
Following the action session, county commissioners will host a quarterly meeting with Emporia city commissioners. Sales tax information from both boards will be discussed, along with an update on Lyon County’s fiber-to-the-home project and a presentation on the county’s open burning process.
