After a significant decline in active cases Monday, Wednesday’s coronavirus update from Lyon County Public Health saw a moderate rise in overall and active cases.
Public Health reported 27 new cases putting the overall total at 5,438 cases since late last March. 19 new recoveries saw the active total rise slightly to 74.
Of the 74 active cases 12 are considered to be breakthroughs meaning infections in fully vaccinated residents. Collectively, Public Health has identified 206 breakthrough cases.
Deaths were unchanged at 90 with one case pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Active hospitalizations were also unchanged at two.
