The Plumb Place organization is a step closer to resuming its mission of helping women in crisis situations.
On Wednesday, the Plumb Place Steering Committee announced the names of 15 people to serve on the agency’s Board of Directors:
*Angie Baker
*Clara Corn, who directed Plumb Place in 2017-2018
*Jeremy Dorsey
*Brooklyn Ewing
*Susan Fowler
*Nicole Freeland
*Randy Guyer
*Jennifer Horst
*Jennifer Ogleby
*Kim Schrock
*Wendi Soendker
*Bobbie Sparks
*Joelle Spotswood
*Staci Sull
*Deone Wilson
Part of the Steering Committee’s role in moving the Plumb Place agency forward was recruiting and selecting board members. Lyon County District Court will formally appoint the new board members at a later time.
Plumb Place closed at the end of last year due to ongoing financial woes, and the Steering Committee has led the effort to restore services for women in need since then. Part of that was the on-site auction for property contents earlier this month, which generated about $16,000. Part of that also includes selling the property, and a list date has not yet been announced.
Plumb Place will be the site of the “Farewell to the Spirits of Plumb Place” tour and paranormal investigation event Oct. 23. United Way Director Mickey Edwards and Flint Hills Paranormal senior investigator Brandy Nance will be on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia at 11:06 am Friday to discuss the event and recent Plumb Place developments.
