Hospital bed space is still limited at Newman Regional Health.
The hospital announced a daily average of four beds in its weekly report Thursday, reflecting traffic between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2. It’s slightly tighter than last week’s figure of five beds per day, which looked at traffic between Sept. 15-Oct. 2.
The number of COVID-19 patients per day, which was at seven between Sept. 22 and Oct. 5, is now at five. Of Newman Regional Health’s 42 patients hospitalized due to coronavirus since July 1, 38 or over 90 percent have been unvaccinated.
Patient transfer times now vary between 17 minutes and over two days, a slightly wider spread than last week’s report.
