The Olpe Eagles continued their undefeated season with a 59-0 victory over Northern Heights Friday night.
The Eagles opened the scoring with a three-play 45-yard drive on their first possession of the game and added four more scores to close out the first quarter leading 35-0. The Eagles would find the endzone three more times in the second to lead the Wildcats 56-0 at the half.
In the second half, Northern Heights held Olpe to just a field goal but could not find the endzone themselves as Olpe rolled to their seventh straight win on the year.
Olpe senior Derek Hoelting ended the night with 85 yards of offense and two rushing touchdowns. He says they came ready to handle the Wildcat offense.
Olpe will close out the regular season next week against Christ Prep Academy. Olpe head coach Chris Schmidt says that will be an important game heading into the postseason.
With the win, Olpe improves to 7-0 as Northern Heights falls to 0-6. Northern Heights plays at Valley Heights next Friday.
