Emporia Fire is investigating after a small fire near the east edge of town Friday.
Fire developed in a trailer home at 2034 Ridgeway Road shortly after 11:30 am. Emporia Fire Capt. Jesse Taylor says a final cause determination is in process and may well be electrical in nature. The early reports indicate there was a remodeling project underway when the residents heard popping sounds. They shut off the circuit breaker, got outside and called 911.
A damage report is pending. No injuries have been reported.
