It took longer than expected, but the wait was well worth it for the Eli Young Band to come to Emporia Saturday night.
The multi-platinum country music band was formed back in the early 2000s in Denton, TX. They released their first self-titled album back in 2002 and have recorded five studio albums since including their 2014 album 10,000 towns which was number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts in March of that year.
The band was originally scheduled to perform at the Granada back in April of last year, however, their appearance was delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The wait didn’t affect the turnout, however, with nearly every seat in the theatre full for the concert which opened with Americus native and Emporia-based musician Savanna Chestnut and the Field Hands.
Eli Young Band will next perform on Oct. 29 in Corpus Christi, TX.
