Homecoming is almost here for Emporia State University.
Homecoming officially begins Thursday, and Alumni Association Programs Coordinator Tiffany Wilson tells KVOE News it’s exciting — and a relief — to have Homecoming activities this year.
Activities begin with the student tricycle races at Kellogg Circle at 7 pm Thursday along with Late Night at White, featuring the men’s and women’s basketball teams at 7 pm at White Auditorium. Both are followed by the debut of the Homecoming musical, which will be “Urinetown.” That will be performed at 7:30 pm at King Hall Bruder Theatre.
Friday’s highlights include Welcome Home, Alumni! — which will include live music from Lucas Parker Band, games, food trucks and more in the Plumb Hall lawn. Before that, the women’s soccer team plays Missouri Southern at 3 pm.
Saturday has several sports events planned, including alumni games for baseball and softball teams before the football team takes on Missouri Southern at 2 pm.
Homecoming concludes with the women’s soccer team playing Central Missouri and a matinee production of “Urinetown,” both at 2 pm.
