Lyon County added 23 new coronavirus cases in its Friday report.
Lyon County Public Health reported 64 cases for the week, pushing the overall total since March 2020 to 5,529.
Active cases dipped from 86 to 73 with 18 cases, or almost 25 percent of the current total, listed as breakthrough cases involving fully vaccinated residents.
Deaths remain at 90. Deaths awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment remain at two. Active hospitalizations remain at three.
Now three area counties — Lyon, Coffey and Osage — have recorded over 1,000 cases through the pandemic. Osage County is now at 1,972 cases, according to KDHE, with over 1,170 cases in Coffey County. Greenwood County is now at 967 cases and Wabaunsee County is at 904 since the pandemic started.
