Together Forward, the current fundraising campaign for Emporia State University, has hit its goal announced in February — but the campaign is not stopping.
At Friday’s Welcome Home Alumni! event on the Plumb Hall lawn, Emporia State Foundation Director Shane Shivley and several university students unveiled the total of almost $55 million, above the $50 million goal announced when the campaign was unveiled at Founder’s Day.
The goal now is the stretch goal of $75 million. Shivley says ongoing conversations with donors have him believing that stretch goal is attainable.
The drive will be the largest fundraiser in ESU history, topping the Now & Forever campaign which generated over $50 million for the university between 2013-2016.
Together Forward centers around three core pillars: high impact learning, attracting the best talents in arts and athletics and unrestricted support to students through the Together Forward fund. More information about Together Forward is online at www.emporia.edu/togetherforward.
