Emporia’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is encouraging residents who manage a volunteer base — or those interested in doing so — to attend a special training session in Junction City this week.
Program Coordinator Kitty Hamilton says the training session is from 9:30 am to 3 pm Thursday at the Rock Springs 4-H Center. Sessions for “Volunteer Management 101” will include information about volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention. Hamilton says Emporia’s Friendship Center received a grant from the Kansas Volunteer Commission to make the training session possible.
There is no cost to attend but there are a limited number of seats and reservations are needed. For more information or to reserve a spot, call Hamilton at 785-422-8501.
