The Kansas Highway Patrol says one man was killed and three people suffered potentially serious injuries after a wreck involving a pickup and SUV near Burlington early Sunday.
The crash happened shortly after 2 am on US Highway 75 about three miles south of Burlington. The Highway Patrol crash log says 52-year-old Gary Miser of Emporia was northbound on US-75 and crossed the center line before crashing into an SUV driven by 19-year-old Brandon Darbyshire of Eureka.
A passenger in Darbyshire’s vehicle, 18-year-old Griffin Lamb of Lenexa, was killed. Miser, Darbyshire and another passenger in Darbyshire’s vehicle, 20-year-old Thomas Greig of Prairie Village, all suffered suspected serious injuries. Miser and Greig were both taken to Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, while Darbyshire was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka for care.
All four involved in the wreck were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
