Employees at several Kansas universities will need to vaccinate against COVID-19, based on federal contract connections. Emporia State University is not on that list.
The University of Kansas, Kansas State University and Wichita State University all handle federal contracts, and the Kansas Board of Regents says these universities fall under the federal vaccination mandate involving federal workers, contractors, businesses with at least 100 employees and healthcare facilities receiving federal funds. Employees at these universities must reach full compliance by Dec. 8.
Emporia State University is not included because it does not handle federal contacts, according to the Board of Regents.
