This is a busy week for the Emporia Board of Education, and it leads to a busy close to the calendar year.
The USD 253 board will have a construction tour between 11 am and 1 pm Tuesday as the nearly $80 million Building for the Future renovation process continues districtwide.
The board’s regular meeting is at 7 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert. Board members will discuss COVID-19 policy after extended conversations about possibly relaxing some mitigation strategies during the last board meeting. Capital outlay matters for the 2021-2022 academic year will be addressed. District enrollment will also be discussed.
November and December are busy for the board as well. After the general election Nov. 2, board members will have their annual Strategic Planning meeting Nov. 3, followed by appearances at the Kansas Association of School Boards convention Nov. 5-7. Future board meetings are coming Nov. 10 and Dec. 8.
