The Emporia State Volleyball team fell to #4 Washburn three sets to none Tuesday evening.
The Ichabods defeated the Hornets 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21. The Hornets were led by freshman Leah Mach with 12 kills and 11 digs. Junior Shelby Ebert had three aces while fellow junior Rylie Fornelli ended the night with 21 digs.
Coach Bing Xu says it wasn’t the result they wanted, but he was proud of the way his team competed.
The Hornets next travel to Newman to face the Jets on Friday with first serve set for 6 pm.
