It’s a busy week for the Emporia Farmers Market.
Soup-A-Palooza takes place Tuesday at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building. The main serving hours are 11 am to 3 pm with four soups available — sausage potato, creamy tomato, chicken tortellini and beefy vegetable — along with homemade desserts. Suggested donation is $6 with take-home pints also available, and fundraising will be bolstered by a silent auction.
Once Soup-A-Palooza is over, Farmers Market staffers and volunteers turn their attention to the start of the Winter Market at Waters Hardware. Hours are 10 am to noon the first and third Saturdays of the month through March, with the first Winter Market coming this Saturday.
This comes off a big regular season for the market, according to Coordinator Trisha Fullerton.
