Troopers with the Kansas Highway Patrol say the fatality wreck in Franklin County that killed a New York woman and involved an Emporia trio Friday night may have had its origins in a running road rage incident.
Technical Trooper William Bailiff tells KVOE News 54-year-old Lori Anne Maxwell of Gloversville, New York, and 22-year-old Adrion Self of Emporia apparently had a dispute while driving on Interstate 35. It’s unclear when or how the dispute started, but Maxwell eventually pulled in front of Self’s SUV, stopped on the highway, got out and walked towards Self’s vehicle.
Shortly after that, a semi apparently hit and killed Maxwell and kept going.
Bailiff says witness report the semi as possibly being a cattle hauler with a blue power unit. There are no other descriptions available about the incident.
