The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has officially recommended a COVID-19 vaccine for young students.
On Tuesday evening, the CDC officially recommended the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5-11, a step that means around 28 million Americans can start the vaccination process.
The White House says about 15 million doses will head across the country in the next week. About 10 million will be available at doctor’s offices, children’s hospitals, community centers and mass vaccination sites. The other five million doses will head to pharmacies.
Kids will receive a third of the dosage amount of people ages 12 and up.
